SBK Purpose
The Shiho Bugei Kai (SBK) or “Four Directions Martial Arts Society” was founded, as we know it today, to serve as an official accrediting, certification, and governing body for Ryukyu Hon Kenpo Kobujutsu and Okinawa Kenpo Karate Kobudo practitioners as passed down by the late Seikichi Odo, Daisensei (great sensei) (1926-2002) and for the preservation of his martial arts legacy. SBK Chief Instructor – Mike Kriegisch
Mr. Kriegisch has been involved in the Martial Arts since 1975, and he has been running his own school since March of 1980. Grand Master Odo
In the early twentieth century, karate was a regular program for physical education in the Okinawan school system because it increased the health and vitality of the students. Seikichi Odo (1926-2002) was first introduced to judo while in school. He began to study Okinawa-Te at the age of thirteen, with Sensei Matsuda, at the Hanza district (1939). Shiho Bugei Kai History
The Shiho Bugei Kai or “Four Directions Martial Arts Society” was created by Sensei Michael J. Kriegisch (Hanshi, RHKK) in 1997 with the permission of Daisensei Seikichi Odo. The SBK was an affiliate organization under the former Okinawa Kenpo Karate Kobudo Federation and the current Ryukyu Hon Kenpo Kobujutsu Federation, both headed by late Daisensei Odo.
